What's Included
- Winchester Model 1897 Takedown shotgun
This is the takedown configuration, with the takedown joint/collar visible forward of the receiver. The receiver/action bar is marked "MODEL 1897" over "—WINCHESTER—", and the barrel is marked "12 GA." and "FULL" to match its 12 gauge chambering and fixed full choke.
The shotgun is set up in a sporting-style layout with a tubular magazine and barrel band. It wears plain, uncheckered wood furniture, paired with a grooved corncob-style wood forend that gives a secure, traditional grip for cycling the pump.
Details like the external hammer and the period-correct rollmarks help define this Model 1897 as an early 20th-century Winchester pump. The barrel carries the Winchester Repeating Arms Co. New Haven, Conn. U.S.A. marking and multiple patent dates, consistent with Model 1897 production and documentation.
With a supplied 28" barrel and 2+1 capacity, this configuration emphasizes a traditional, full-choke sporting setup. A front bead sight provides a simple, functional sighting picture appropriate to the shotgun’s intended style.
