The Model 96G combines a DA/SA trigger system with a decocker-only control layout that returns to fire after decocking. The slide is marked "MOD. 96G - CAL. 40 - PATENTED" on the right side, with "BERETTA U.S.A. CORP.
ACKK. MD - MADE IN USA" on the left, along with the Beretta emblem.
Its open-top slide design includes a slide-mounted ambidextrous decocker lever and a red dot indicator adjacent to the lever. The frame is a light-alloy construction paired with a steel barrel, and the included grip panels are black polymer with checkering and a Beretta medallion.
Sight setup is a 3-dot iron-sight system with a Trijicon-marked front sight. The front sight is marked "Trijicon" and also marked "H3 01," while the rear sight uses two circular inserts/dots.
