This Legion SAO configuration eliminates the decocking lever and adds an ambidextrous manual thumb safety for a consistent single-action trigger pull. A skeletonized spur hammer and an extended beavertail support confident control and comfortable handling.
The slide and frame wear the Legion Gray finish, with the slide constructed from stainless steel and the frame from aluminum alloy. Frontstrap checkering, an additional checkered pad beneath an undercut trigger guard, and black checkered G10 grips with Legion medallions provide a secure, positive grip.
Sights are dovetailed day/night units with a high-visibility green ring front and a square-notch rear for fast alignment. The slide features both front and rear serrations, and the dust cover integrates a three-slot accessory rail.
Markings include 'SIG SAUER P229' on the left slide, 'SIG SAUER INC., NEWINGTON–NH–USA' on the right slide, '9mm x 19' on the barrel hood, and 'LEGION' on the slide top. The factory case label reflects model code E29R-9-LEGION-SAO with a date of 27-DEC-2018.
