The Renegade is a single-shot, side-lock percussion muzzleloader with a drum/snail and nipple ignition, built on a robust, full-size platform. Its 26-inch heavy octagonal barrel is blued and paired with an under-rib and ramrod pipes, along with a hooked breech/tang joint that enables convenient disassembly of the barrel from the stock.
Controls and sighting are straightforward and period-correct: a serpentine hammer, double-set triggers, a dovetailed front blade, and an adjustable rear sight. Together they deliver precise ignition control and a crisp aiming setup well-suited to traditional black powder shooting.
The straight American walnut stock is fitted with iron furniture and wedge escutcheons, providing a solid, classic feel. The lock and hammer are color case-hardened and display factory foliate scroll engraving on the lockplate and hammer, adding tasteful detail without departing from the rifle’s utilitarian character.
Barrel markings include: "Thompson | Center Arms Rochester, New Hampshire .50 Cal. Renegade" and "Black Powder Only." Overall, this Renegade presents as a well-kept, U.S.-made percussion rifle with desirable traditional features and clean bore condition.
