Configured as a full-size DA/SA pistol, this P89 uses a slide-mounted manual safety/decocker with ambidextrous safety levers and a red "fire" dot indication. The slide is rollmarked "RUGER P89" and includes the slide-mounted ambidextrous control levers that define the manual-safety setup on this model.
The pistol features an aluminum alloy frame and black ribbed synthetic grip panels with molded "RUGER" and a Ruger phoenix/eagle medallion. A lanyard loop is present at the heel of the grip, adding a practical retention point for those who prefer it.
Sighting is via fixed iron sights with a white dot front and white dots on the rear. The barrel hood is marked "9mm x 19" and "WR," and the right-side frame/receiver is marked "STURM, RUGER & CO., INC. / SOUTHPORT, CONN. U.S.A." with warning-style frame text.
