What’s Included
- Ruger New Model Blackhawk .357 Maximum revolver
Purpose-built for IHMSA metallic silhouette competition, this New Model Blackhawk uses an extended frame and elongated six-shot cylinder to accommodate the .357 Maximum. This configuration distinguishes it from standard Blackhawk models and delivers the strength needed for the cartridge’s longer case.
The revolver wears a polished blued finish over its steel frame, receiver, cylinder, and barrel, with the hammer and trigger left in the white. Smooth walnut grips with Ruger silver eagle medallions complete the classic profile.
Its 7.5" steel barrel is paired with a pinned ramp front sight and a fully adjustable square-notch rear sight, providing a precise, clean sight picture. This sighting setup matches the silhouette heritage of the platform.
Operation is single-action with an exposed hammer. Safety features include Ruger’s transfer-bar system and a loading gate interlock. Capacity is six rounds of .357 Maximum.
Manufactured in the USA in 1982, this variant comes from a short production run circa 1982–1984. The series-specific 600- serial prefix and limited span contribute to its desirability among Ruger and silhouette enthusiasts.
