Built on the M&P (Military & Police) series platform, this full-size M&P 40 combines a polymer frame with a black-finished slide and a 4.25 barrel. The barrel hood is marked "40 S&W," and the pistol is identified on the slide with clear factory rollmarks.
The frame includes an integral accessory rail and a reversible-style magazine release. A hinged trigger safety is used as the primary passive safety feature, and no external manual/thumb safety levers are visible.
For sighting, it is equipped with 3-dot iron sights: a white-dot front sight and a rear sight with two white dots. Rear cocking serrations with a wavy/scalloped pattern provide a distinct gripping surface on the slide.
