The XM15-E2S A2 configuration delivers the traditional AR-15 profile with a fixed A2 carry handle upper, A2 rear sight, and A2 front sight base. It uses a rifle-length gas system with ribbed, two-piece polymer handguards, a fixed A2 buttstock, and an A2 pistol grip, all in black.
The upper includes a forward assist, case deflector, and ejection-port cover. The receiver is marked "B.F.I. WINDHAM, ME U.S.A." with the Bushmaster snake logo, "CAL .223–5.56MM," and "MOD. XM15-E2S." The selector is marked "SAFE" and "FIRE."
Chambered for 5.56mm NATO and compatible with STANAG-pattern magazines, capacity is noted at 30+1. The muzzle end shows a non-slotted cylindrical muzzle device secured with a hex locknut, and no bayonet lug is present.
