The 629 Deluxe Classic -6 is built on Smith & Wesson's N-frame and features a six-shot fluted cylinder, all in satin stainless steel. The yoke is stamped 629-6 to denote the engineering change. Rollmarks include MADE IN U.S.A., SMITH & WESSON, SPRINGFIELD, MA.
Its 6.5 inch stainless steel heavy barrel with a full-length underlug provides a steady sight picture, paired with a red-ramp front sight and an adjustable rear sight with a white outline. The sight setup is straightforward and proven.
The revolver uses a DA/SA action with an exposed hammer featuring a wide, checkered spur for confident control. It includes a smooth trigger and an internal keyed lock.
Overall length is approximately 11.6 inches, with an unloaded weight around 50.7–51.2 oz. Capacity is six rounds. Chambered in .44 Remington Magnum, it also accepts .44 Special. The checkered wood target stocks with S&W medallions complete the classic presentation.
