Configured with a smooth (non-checkered) wood stock in a pistol grip profile, this carbine also includes a metal buttplate and sling swivel studs/loops. Up front, it uses a wood fore-end with a barrel band located forward of the fore-end.
Controls and handling features include a cross-bolt safety and a right-side operating handle. Iron sights are fitted, with both the front and rear sights listed as barrel-mounted.
Markings on the barrel and receiver include the Ruger emblem and registered trademark symbol, along with the barrel text "RUGER CARBINE, .44 MAGNUM CAL., STURM, RUGER & CO., SOUTHPORT, CONN. U.S.A." The rifle is identified as U.S.-made, and the serial number is marked 89877.
