The Ares combines a compact 4.25 in bull barrel with a double-stack 1911/2011-pattern build, delivering capacity and control in a lighter aluminum-alloy frame. It operates in single-action with a recoil-operated system and omits a grip safety by design.
The slide is a tri-top profile with front and rear angled cocking serrations, lightening windows at the muzzle, and an optics cut. A removable plate carries the square-notch rear sight, pairing with a red fiber-optic front for a clear, fast sight picture.
Controls include an ambidextrous manual thumb safety and a flat-faced, lightened trigger for a refined press. The double-stack grip uses a raised triangular texture and features a flared/beveled magazine opening without an external magwell.
An integral 3-slot Picatinny rail on the dustcover supports common accessories. The pistol is finished in matte black across slide and frame, measures in a compact size, and weighs approximately 30 oz without a magazine (factory spec).
Markings include 'ARES' with Atlas flame-globe logos, the barrel hood marked 'PERFECT ZERO 9MM,' and 'ATLAS GUNWORKS INC., SHELBURNE, VT.' The Ares is a retired model that later gave way to the steel-frame EOS Perfect Zero series.
