Product Description

Colt Blackpowder Arms Co. 1861 Navy Signature Series General Custer Edition .36 Percussion Revolver, Antique Silver, Factory Engraved, Cased Set

This Colt Blackpowder Arms Co. Model 1861 Navy is a Signature Series, 3rd Generation General Custer Edition with factory Nimschke/New York-style scroll engraving covering approximately 70% of the revolver. It features an antique-silver finish and a distinctive one-piece wood grip with a relief-carved American eagle-and-shield on the right panel and fine checkering on the left. Presented as a cased set with period-style accoutrements, it is a limited-edition, U.S.-assembled commemorative that closely follows classic Colt markings and form.

Built as a .36 caliber, single-action, six-shot percussion revolver, it retains the 7.5 inch round barrel and creeping (ratchet) loading lever associated with the 1861 Navy pattern. Fixed sights consist of a blade front and a V-notch in the hammer nose. The cylinder carries scroll engraving motifs without the naval battle scene, aligning with the edition’s aesthetic and factory-engraved coverage.

Assembly was performed in the United States by Colt Blackpowder Arms Co. using Italian-made parts under Colt license during the 1994–2002 era. Classic Colt-style markings are present, including "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY," "COLT'S PATENT," "36 CAL," and a small three-digit stamp on the butt. Matching serial numbers were observed on major components.

The antique-silver finish extends across the frame, cylinder, loading lever, hammer, and grip frame, with engraved backstrap and butt. The presentation case and accessories complete the commemorative package and reflect the period styling associated with Colt cased revolvers.
