The Model 422 is a blowback-operated, single-action, hammer-fired pistol built on an aluminum alloy frame. This example has an external spur hammer, rear cocking serrations, and a frame-mounted manual safety with a red dot fire indicator.
Sight configuration is straightforward and functional, using iron sights with a blade front and notch rear. The pistol is fitted with black synthetic grip panels with molded checkering and an S&W emblem/medallion area.
This pistol is finished in black with a black slide and black frame. The trigger is silver-colored, and the included magazines are Smith & Wesson units marked "22 CAL," with orange followers and visible numeric stamps on the magazine bodies.
