Manufactured by Colt Blackpowder Arms Co. under license from Colt, this percussion cap-and-ball revolver follows the 1st Model Dragoon pattern and belongs to the Signature Series era (1994–2002). It operates on a single-action mechanism and uses a six-shot, non-fluted cylinder with small safety pins at the rear.
The cylinder is factory roll-engraved with the Ormsby 'Ranger and Indian' scene and a 'COLT'S PATENT' panel, with oval cylinder stop notches. The top barrel flat carries the correct 'ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY' marking.
The 7.5 inch barrel is retained by a transverse wedge with a retaining screw, and a loading lever with a front latch sits beneath the barrel. Fixed sights include a front blade and a hammer notch rear.
Finishes include a color case-hardened frame and hammer with a blued barrel and cylinder. A square-back brass trigger guard and brass backstrap are fitted to a one-piece walnut grip.
Matching serial numbers appear on the barrel lug, frame, trigger guard, and cylinder, with a partial number on the brass backstrap butt. This example reflects the Authentic Blackpowder Series configuration assembled and finished in the United States.
