This Smith & Wesson M&P 9 Shield is the Performance Center M2.0 ported version with a manual thumb safety, built in a micro-size format and chambered in 9mm Luger. It features a ported barrel matched to a ported/lightened slide with top cutouts, plus a flat-faced trigger and fiber-optic sights with a green front and red two-dot rear. The pistol is finished in matte black with a polymer frame and aggressive grip texturing.

As a Performance Center M2.0 model, this Shield combines a ported barrel with a ported/lightened slide and top slide cutouts/ports. The slide is marked "M&P 9 SHIELD", "Performance Center", and "M2.0", and the barrel is marked "9MM".
The pistol is striker-fired and equipped with a flat-faced trigger. A manual thumb safety is present, and it is capable of firing with the magazine removed.
Sighting is set up with fiber-optic style light-collecting inserts: a green front sight and a rear sight with red inserts in a two-dot layout. The slide features front cocking serrations for added traction.
The matte black polymer frame uses aggressive grip texturing and includes a slide stop lever. Included is one factory 9mm magazine with witness holes labeled 3 through 8 and markings consistent with the Shield format.
