Built around a recoil-operated, locked-breech action with an internal hammer, this Bodyguard 380 uses a double-action-only trigger system. It also includes a manual thumb safety and is marked to indicate it is capable of firing with the magazine removed (no magazine-disconnect safety).
The integrated INSIGHT laser is identified by the "INSIGHT LASER" frame marking and uses frame-mounted activation button(s). A rectangular laser-related warning label is adhered to the right side of the slide.
For sights, it uses open sights with a fixed low-profile front blade and a fixed low-profile rear notch. The rear sight is described as dovetail-mounted and drift-adjustable.
