Built on Glock's full-size frame, the Model 22 is chambered in .40 S&W and uses a striker-fired action with the GLOCK Safe Action system and trigger safety. It features a black slide with rear slide serrations and a black polymer frame.
The pistol is equipped with fixed iron sights: a white dot front sight paired with a white U-outline rear sight. Slide markings include the GLOCK logo, the model "22", and the caliber ".40".
Markings indicate Austrian origin, with "AUSTRIA" on the slide and "MADE IN AUSTRIA / GLOCK, INC. / SMYRNA, GA" on the frame. Serial/identifier markings appear on both the slide and frame with matching serial elements.
