This Norinco MAK-90 Sporter is a China-made AKM-pattern semi-automatic rifle chambered in 7.62x39. It features the classic sporter configuration with a fixed wood thumbhole stock and matching wood upper and lower handguards. The rifle is marked "MAK-90 SPORTER, CAL. 7.62X39MM" with the Norinco logo, and it is import-stamped "I.A.C. BILLERICA MA" and "MADE IN CHINA." An owner-applied marking, "THIEM VU," is carved/marked into the wood stock.

This MAK-90 is built on the AKM platform with a stamped steel receiver and visible rivet heads. It uses a gas-operated long-stroke piston system and a right-side charging handle, with a right-side safety/selector lever.
The rifle wears a fixed wood thumbhole stock with a rubber buttpad and a 13.75 length of pull. Matching wood upper and lower handguards are installed, and the lower handguard has ventilation cutouts. A rear sling attachment point is visible at the buttstock.
Sighting is via open iron sights, using a hooded front sight assembly with a front post and a tangent-style rear sight leaf. The muzzle is shown with no muzzle device installed.
Markings include "MAK-90 SPORTER, CAL. 7.62X39MM," the Norinco logo/marking, "I.A.C. BILLERICA MA," and "MADE IN CHINA." Parts/assembly numbering "87940" is observed on the bolt carrier and another metal component, consistent with matching-last-digits practice.
