The No. 1B Standard configuration pairs Ruger’s strong falling-block, single-shot action with a 26" round steel barrel for the .270 Win cartridge. The blued steel receiver and barrel present a clean, traditional look appropriate to the model’s classic design.
The stock is checkered walnut with a semi-beavertail forend and pistol grip, complemented by a Ruger medallion grip cap, rubber buttpad, and factory sling swivel studs. The wood-to-metal fit and practical stock features align with the Standard designation.
The quarter rib is machined with Ruger’s integral ring interface and is set up for optics; there are no iron sights. An auxiliary one-piece scope base is installed on the rib, providing a ready mounting surface for a scope of your choice.
Controls include a tang safety and an internal hammer. The ejector is adjustable and can be set for extraction only. Capacity is one round, consistent with the No. 1’s purpose-built single-shot design. Catalog 1-B Standard designation and model number 01314 are confirmed by the box end label, and the rifle bears the Ruger proof mark.
