Built on a metal frame and configured with an exposed hammer, this 96 Brigadier uses a traditional DA/SA (hammer-fired) action. The slide-mounted safety lever includes a red dot indicator for the fire position.
The Brigadier heavy-profile slide is paired with Beretta's open-top slide profile. The dustcover is smooth with no accessory rail visible, and a lanyard loop is present at the heel of the grip.
Controls and furniture are straightforward and factory-style, including black synthetic (polymer) grip panels with a Beretta medallion and checkering. Sighting is via iron sights with a 2-dot rear sight.
Markings are clearly described on the slide, including "96 BRIGADIER - CAL. 40 S&W - PATENTED" and the left-side rollmark "BERETTA U.S.A. CORP. ACKK. MD - MADE IN USA" with the Beretta "PB" logo.
