The EMP platform is built specifically around shorter cartridges, and this .40 S&W example reflects that engineering with a compact, micro-size 1911 layout and an 8+1 capacity. Its forged stainless slide and forged steel frame wear a two-tone scheme: a matte stainless slide over a black protective finish on the frame.
The 3-inch stainless match-grade barrel is fully ramped, bushingless, and configured as a bull profile. A dual-spring recoil system with a full-length guide rod supports the short-slide format, working with the single-action, locked-breech, recoil-operated system.
Controls and ergonomics include a beavertail grip safety, a single-side thumb safety, a skeletonized three-hole trigger, and a skeletonized commander-style hammer. The slide has rear cocking serrations only, and the dustcover is unrailed. Checkered wood grips with Springfield Armory medallions complete the grip setup.
