This Stoeger Cougar 8040 F is a compact .40 S&W with the Cougar series rotating-barrel short-recoil system, a non-railed F configuration, and ambidextrous slide-mounted safety/decocker. It features an aluminum alloy frame with a steel slide, a 3.6 in cold hammer forged barrel, and fixed 3-dot sights. Made in Turkey and imported by Stoeger Industries, it comes with two 11-round steel magazines, the factory case, and the original manual.

The Cougar 8040 F pairs a compact 3.6 in barrel with a short-recoil rotating-barrel lockup, delivering the distinct Cougar operating system in a carry-friendly size. The F configuration uses a smooth, non-railed dust cover for a streamlined profile.
Its aluminum alloy frame and steel slide are finished in black, matched to textured black polymer grip panels with Stoeger logo medallions. An exposed spurred hammer supports DA/SA operation with a left-side magazine release.
Controls include an ambidextrous slide-mounted safety/decocker, with fixed 3-dot sights consisting of a fixed blade front with dot and a dovetail rear notch. The slide is finished in black to complement the alloy frame.
The cold hammer forged 3.6 in barrel is chambered in .40 S&W, and the pistol uses 11+1 magazines. This example bears factory import markings: MADE IN TURKEY and IMPORTED BY STOEGER INDUSTRIES, INC., MD USA.
