What's Included
- F.lli Pietta 1851 Navy Confederate brass frame .44 cap-and-ball revolver with 7.5 in barrel
The Confederate brass-frame configuration pairs a brass frame and receiver with a blued steel barrel and cylinder, and a color case-hardened hammer. The one-piece smooth hardwood grip and fixed sights (brass post front, hammer-notch rear) retain the classic 1851 profile. The wedge-retained barrel assembly and under-barrel loading lever follow the original pattern.
The six-chamber steel cylinder carries the traditional naval battle roll-engraving. The barrel has a 1:30 LH twist for round ball stability in this platform. Markings include BLACK POWDER ONLY .44 CAL, along with Italian proof marks and a clear Made in Italy origin marking.
This is a faithful reproduction of the Colt 1851 Navy pattern in .44 caliber, configured as a cap-and-ball, single-action percussion revolver. Factory guidance indicates cartridge-conversion cylinders are not recommended for brass-frame models.
Overall presentation and function are excellent, aligning with the revolver’s careful handling history. It is a well-executed Italian-made example with the classic open-top design and authentic period features.
