This FN America FNX-45 Tactical is a full-size, DA/SA .45 ACP pistol configured with a cold hammer-forged, stainless steel threaded barrel and raised 3-dot tritium night sights. It features a polymer frame with a frame-mounted MIL-STD-1913/Picatinny accessory rail, an external hammer, and an ambidextrous safety/decocker. The FNX-45 Tactical is built around a full-size polymer frame and a matte black finish, with a slide marked "FNX-45", "TACTICAL", and ".45 ACP", along with the FN oval logo and "FN Columbia, SC USA". The slide also includes a rectangular cover plate on top secured by two screws.
This pistol uses a DA/SA action with an external hammer and a frame-mounted ambidextrous safety/decocker. The frame includes a MIL-STD-1913/Picatinny accessory rail for mounting compatible lights or lasers, and a lanyard eyelet/ring at the rear of the grip.
Its 5.3-inch, stainless steel barrel is cold hammer-forged and threaded, with a knurled thread protector installed. The muzzle threading is .578x28, and the barrel twist rate is 1:16 RH.
The sight setup consists of raised 3-dot tritium night sights with tall, high-profile front and rear units; the rear sight is Trijicon-marked. Capacity is 15+1 with the included 15-round magazines.
