Built in Israel by IMI, this Mark I Desert Eagle features the original gas-operated system with a rotating multi-lug bolt and a fixed 6-inch steel barrel in .44 Rem Magnum. The dark matte finish complements the pistol’s purposeful lines and early-production configuration.
Controls include ambidextrous slide-mounted teardrop safety levers with red fire indicator dots, a left-side magazine release, and a left-side slide catch with a narrow single-step shelf. It uses an external spur hammer and rear slide grasping serrations only, consistent with Mark I features.
The top barrel rib is narrow and un-slotted. Sights are fixed iron, with a ramped front blade and square-notch rear for a crisp sight picture appropriate to the platform’s design.
Markings include “MAGNUM RESEARCH INC., MINNEAPOLIS MINN., MADE IN ISRAEL,” underscoring its IMI manufacture and U.S. import path. Period-correct provenance comes from the included Magnum Research operator’s manual and an accessories/order sheet dated February 1, 1988.
Textured black polymer grip panels with IMI medallions provide a secure hold. The pistol is chambered in .44 Rem Magnum with an 8+1 capacity and includes three factory IMI 8-round magazines with baseplates stamped “1-85 44.”
