This 637-2 features double-action/single-action operation with an exposed hammer and a smooth-faced trigger. An internal key lock is positioned above the cylinder window. The right side of the frame bears the Performance Center round logo, and the yoke is marked with the model 637-2 designation.
Sights are fixed, with a serrated ramp front and an integral rear notch for a consistent sight picture. The hardwood boot-style grips are checkered and set with S&W medallions, providing a secure purchase on the round-butt frame.
