The GF5 architecture features a forged front trunnion, forged bolt, and forged carrier set in an AKM-pattern stamped receiver with magazine-well dimples and a ribbed top cover. Soviet Arms/PSA markings are present, and the rifle is U.S.-made.
The 16 in FN cold hammer forged barrel is chrome-moly-vanadium steel, chrome-lined, and magnetic-particle inspected. It is threaded M14x1 LH and uses a 1:9.5 twist rate to stabilize common 7.62x39 projectiles.
Controls follow the AKM pattern with a paddle-style magazine release and a selector lever safety. The action is semi-automatic with a long-stroke gas piston and a rotating bolt. Capacity is 30+1 with the included magazine.
Traditional hardwood furniture defines the look and feel: a fixed stock with a 13.0 in length of pull, wood handguards, and a wood pistol grip with checkering in a glossy deep-red finish.
Iron sights include a hooded front post and a tangent rear sight leaf. The receiver carries a side scope mount to support optic mounting if desired.
