The Model 116 is part of the 110 Series and is chambered in .270 Win with a 4-round internal box magazine and hinged floorplate. It uses a 22-inch fluted stainless barrel with a round, unthreaded muzzle and no iron sights. The stainless receiver has a satin finish.
The action incorporates Savage's floating bolt head and barrel-nut system, a recessed bolt face, and a plunger ejector. The bolt body is spiral-fluted.
The trigger system is the user-adjustable AccuTrigger with a blade-in-trigger safety, paired with a three-position tang safety.
The walnut stock features a Monte Carlo comb with cheekpiece, cut checkering, a contrasting fore-end tip, a rubber recoil pad, and a grip cap with Savage medallion. Length of pull is 13.5 inches with a checkered pistol grip.
The receiver is drilled and tapped for optics, and two-piece scope bases are installed. There are no factory iron sights.
