Built on the Mosin-Nagant platform, the wz. 44 is a compact carbine with a 20.25-inch barrel and a full-length hardwood stock. It retains the classic right-side finger groove, two spring-retained barrel bands, side sling slots, and a separate top handguard. A steel buttplate completes the robust field-ready configuration.
The sights are practical and period-correct: a hooded post front sight paired with a tangent rear sight with a slider. The bayonet is the signature folding spike mounted on the right side, permanently attached via an integral lug at the front sight base.
The metalwork is blued, contrasted by a polished in-the-white bolt. The receiver is round, consistent with standard wz. 44 production. Factory and proof markings include the "11" in oval on the barrel shank and a diamond-shaped proof, indicating Polish manufacture and inspection.
Chambered in 7.62x54R, this bolt-action carbine uses a fixed internal 5-round magazine and retains its under-barrel cleaning rod. The included sling is installed, adding to its ready-to-display configuration for collectors of Eastern Bloc carbines.
