The Luxembourg contract is confirmed by the AL crest on the receiver ring, with an FN Herstal address roll-mark on the right receiver wall. Belgian star-over-letter and Perron proof marks further document its Belgian manufacture in the early 1950s. The left receiver ring bears a "30" stamp associated with .30-06 chambering.
This rifle uses FN's short-stroke gas piston system with a tilting-bolt, paired with a right-side knurled charging handle and a trigger-guard safety. It feeds from a fixed 10-round internal box magazine and includes a receiver-top charger guide for use with stripper clips.
The barrel measures 23 inches, and overall length is approximately 43.5 inches. The muzzle features a short cylindrical cap with a lateral port. A bayonet lug is located under the front sight base, and sling points are placed at the mid-band (bottom) and at a left-side buttstock loop.
