Built on Browning's long-recoil Auto-5 action, this Sweet Sixteen is chambered in 16 Gauge with a 2 3/4" chamber. It is marked on the barrel "SPECIAL STEEL - 16 GAUGE - SHELLS 2 3/4" and retains the right-side ejection layout associated with the Auto-5 design.
This example is factory engraved, featuring a light scroll/foliate pattern and the "Sweet Sixteen" script on the receiver. The receiver is also marked "BROWNING" and "Sweet Sixteen," matching the model identity and presentation.
The shotgun is fitted with a checkered wood buttstock and fore-end and uses a ribbed sighting plane with a front bead sight. It also includes a magazine cut-off lever, a practical feature for managing feeding from the magazine.
