It is an early-1980s production rifle (approx. 1983 serial block) with the Southport, Conn. U.S.A. barrel address. The aluminum-alloy receiver uses Ruger's V-block barrel attachment system and feeds from the detachable rotary magazine.
The 18.5-inch steel barrel uses a 1:16 right-hand twist suited to .22 LR. Sights include a ramped front with a small bead, while the rear sight is not visible with the scope installed.
Optics are ready to use as configured: a Bushnell Sportview fixed 4x32 scope is mounted on a two-screw tip-off/Weaver-style receiver base with rings that have 'WEAVER USA' marked caps. The setup complements the rifle's handy size and clean lines.
