The PT 101 AF-D is the adjustable-sight member of the PT-100/101 series, chambered in .40 S&W with a 5 inch barrel and a full-size profile. The frame is marked "AFD" to denote the decocker-equipped AF-D configuration. It has a non-railed dustcover and a maximum capacity of 15+1.
Its DA/SA operation runs on a short-recoil, locked-breech system using a Beretta-pattern locking-block mechanism. The open-top slide has rear serrations only and a blued/black finish. A spur hammer and a red fire dot indicator round out the control layout.
Safety features include an ambidextrous, frame-mounted three-position safety/decocker and a firing pin block. Sights are a 3-dot arrangement with a fixed front white dot and a fully adjustable micrometer rear sight with two white dots for precise zeroing.
The black aluminum alloy frame keeps weight down while retaining durability. Smooth wood grip panels with Taurus medallions provide a classic look and a solid in-hand feel. Markings include "FORJAS TAURUS S.A. — MADE IN BRAZIL" and "TAURUS INT. MFG., INC., MIAMI, FL."
Included is one Mec-Gar PT100/101-pattern steel magazine with a "PLUS 2" basepad, as noted by the "PT100" and "MEC-GAR" markings on the body. This mag is compatible with the PT-100/101 pattern and complements the pistol’s full-size configuration.
