This example is a recent-release 4.0C variant launched in December 2024, pairing a hammer-forged barrel, U-Dot sights with a tritium/luminescent front, and fully ambidextrous controls in a durable Melonite-finished package.

The 4.0C compact variant delivers a 4-inch, non-threaded, hammer-forged barrel and a 15+1 capacity in a size optimized for carry and duty roles. The slide wears a Melonite black finish and features front, rear, and top serrations for confident manipulation, plus an external extractor.
Springfield’s VIS direct-mount, optics-ready slide includes an optics cut with a cover plate, enabling low, secure mounting when a red dot is installed. U-Dot sights come standard, combining a tritium/luminescent front dot with a U-notch rear for fast alignment.
The serialized Central Operating Group (COG) is a removable stainless-steel chassis housed in a black polymer frame. This design simplifies maintenance and provides a robust foundation while keeping weight and bulk in check.
Controls are fully ambidextrous by design, including a push-button, ambidextrous magazine release. A 3-slot Picatinny accessory rail on the dust cover supports common lights and lasers. The pistol uses a striker-fired action with a trigger safety.
