This example features a 16.25 in barrel with a non-functional simulated-suppressor shroud and accepts Kalashnikov USA double-feed 9x19 magazines. Built in the United States, the receiver is marked "Kalashnikov USA, Pompano Bch FL U.S.A." and "K9 9x19." The stamped steel construction and matte black finish match the classic AK pattern while accommodating the 9mm Luger chambering.
Operation is semi-automatic blowback with an out-of-battery safety interlock. Controls include a right-side charging handle. Sighting is via a protected post front and an AK-style leaf rear with range graduations.
The California configuration includes a fixed triangular skeleton stock with left-side hinge hardware (non-folding for this variant) and a fin-style compliant grip. Ribbed polymer lower and smooth upper handguards complete the AK-style furniture set.
