The convertible setup allows use of both .357 Magnum and 9mm Luger. The included 9mm cylinder is designed to headspace on the case mouth and does not require moon clips, simplifying use with common 9mm ammunition. Both cylinders are six-shot, fluted stainless units matched to the revolver’s brushed/satin stainless finish.
The 4.62 in (4 5/8 in) cold hammer-forged stainless barrel uses a 1:16 in RH twist. The barrel warning legend is placed on the underside. The revolver features a removable base pin with a knurled head and a crescent-style ejector-rod head.
The flattop topstrap profile omits protective sight ears and works with a pinned ramp front blade and a fully adjustable rear, giving a clear sight picture. The mid-size XR-3 grip frame wears smooth, reddish-toned wood panels with Ruger medallions for a classic look and secure hand feel.
This is a single-action model with Ruger’s transfer-bar safety and a loading-gate interlock. Capacity is six rounds. It is part of the New Model Blackhawk series and carries manufacturer part number 05245. Frame, barrel, cylinder, and receiver are all stainless steel with a brushed/satin stainless finish.
