The Model 30TK is a non-cataloged, store-exclusive variant built on Marlin’s 336 platform. This example dates to 1989 and bears the JM proof mark on the barrel, indicating production at Marlin’s North Haven, Connecticut facility. Its limited run and retail-exclusive distribution add collector interest.
The carbine-length 18.5" steel barrel and steel receiver wear a polished blued/black finish. Operation is traditional Marlin lever action with side ejection and a right-side loading gate. Stated capacity is 6+1. The barrel-banded carbine fore-end includes a front sling loop.
The barrel uses Marlin’s Micro-Groove rifling, and the rifle retains iron sights with a ramped front and an adjustable rear barrel sight. The receiver is drilled and tapped, and this rifle is equipped with a Weaver Pronghorn 4x32 scope using a duplex reticle, mounted on a receiver base with rings.
The hardwood stock has a straight grip and uncheckered panels with a walnut-tone stain, paired with a rubber buttpad. The matching hardwood carbine fore-end completes the classic field-ready configuration. Length of pull measures 13.5".
