The EMP series re-engineers the 1911 around 9mm with 17 resized parts, resulting in a compact, purpose-built pistol. This micro-size model delivers a 9+1 capacity in a trim single-stack format while preserving familiar 1911 ergonomics and single-action operation.
Its 3" stainless steel match-grade bull, bushingless cone-profile barrel supports reliable lockup and consistent accuracy. The slide includes rear cocking serrations and a lowered ejection port for smooth handling and ejection.
The forged aluminum alloy frame wears a black hard-coat anodized finish, paired with a black Armory Kote slide for a durable, all-black presentation. PI9208L denotes this lightweight, all-black variant. Thin double-diamond checkered Cocobolo grip panels with the Springfield Armory logo provide a secure hold.
Controls include a left-side thumb safety, a beavertail grip safety, a skeletonized Commander-style hammer, and a skeletonized 3-hole trigger. Sights are a red fiber-optic front in a dovetail and a low-profile two-dot rear with a set screw for retention.
Made in the USA, this EMP includes three factory 9-round magazines, the original case, and manual. The case label’s serial matches the frame, adding tidy provenance to the package.
