Built on the open-top Colt pattern, this revolver features a forged steel frame with a traditional color case-hardened finish, a blued round barrel, and a blued fluted cylinder. The brass trigger guard and backstrap pair with a one-piece walnut grip for a period-correct profile and solid feel.
The 5.5 in barrel uses a creeping loading lever with a nose-type plunger and a lever latch at the barrel mouth, providing positive, controlled seating of caps and ball. The barrel and frame are forged steel, and the rifling is cut with a 1:32 left-hand twist.
Operation is single-action only with an external hammer featuring a checkered spur. Sighting is straightforward and durable, with a brass pin front sight and a hammer-notch rear, as on the original pattern.
