This 1948 FN Mauser 98 is a Belgian-made sporting rifle chambered in .30-06 with a 24-inch stepped, crowned barrel and no iron sights. The large-ring Mauser 98 action retains the charger hump and uses controlled-round feed with a full-length extractor and a third safety lug. It has a fixed internal box magazine (5+1) with a floorplate secured by two guard screws, and a turned-down bolt with a round knob. The rifle uses a manual safety and a blued steel receiver.
The stepped, tapered 24-inch barrel is crowned at the muzzle and marked at the shank to confirm the .30-06 chambering. There are no iron sights, and a scope mount is installed for optic use. The metalwork wears a classic blued finish.
