The AP5 is a full-size, roller-delayed blowback 9mm pistol built by Makina ve Kimya Endüstrisi (MKE) in Turkey and imported by Century Arms in Georgia, VT. It uses a stamped steel receiver with a black finish and features HK-pattern claw-mount engagement tabs and a push-pin rear interface with a pistol endcap.
Core MP5-style controls are present, including a paddle-style magazine release and an HK-style forward charging handle. The handguard is a black polymer fore-end with raised diamond texture for a secure grip. Sighting is via a hooded front post and a rotary diopter rear drum.
The 8.9-inch barrel has a 3-lug muzzle, and this example includes an MP5 tri-lug flash hider with a knurled locking collar. A claw-style Picatinny top rail mount is included for mounting compatible optics. The pistol accepts MP5-pattern detachable double-column 9mm magazines and comes with two MKE-marked 30-round steel magazines for a 30+1 capacity.
This firearm bears importer and origin markings that read "Made in Turkey / Century Arms Inc / Georgia, VT." It was previously registered as an NFA item and carries the maker engraving "TYLER STEFFAN WAUKESHA, WI" on the receiver; it has been removed from the registry and is currently considered a pistol.
