This commemorative C-Series 1851 Navy remains faithful to the classic pattern with its .36 caliber, six-shot cylinder, and single-action percussion operation. The 7.5-inch octagonal barrel carries Colt’s period "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY" marking along the top flat and the commemorative inscription along the side.
The barrel and cylinder wear a deep blued finish, complemented by a color case-hardened frame, hammer, and loading lever. The silver-plated brass squareback trigger guard and backstrap add a period-correct accent. A brass bead front sight provides a traditional sighting reference.
Collector-focused details include the W.L. Ormsby naval battle roll-engraving on the cylinder and frame markings of "COLTS PATENT." The wedge is marked "C," and the serial format uses the USG series identifier specific to this 1971 Ulysses S. Grant Commemorative issue.
The factory walnut presentation case is fitted and lined in purple satin and velvet, housing the revolver with its matching set of period-style accessories. This complete commemorative package reflects Colt’s Second Generation execution of a landmark 19th-century design.
