The AUG A3 M2 uses a bullpup layout with an integrated polymer stock module, yielding an overall length of about 28.15 inches while retaining a 16 inch barrel. The stock includes a rear sling loop, and this example is configured for right-side ejection with the left-side port closed.
Its barrel assembly is cold hammer forged, has a nitride finish, and is quick-detach for fast changes. A three-prong flash hider is installed at the muzzle, and the fore section includes Steyr's pivoting vertical foregrip.
The gas system is a semi-automatic, short-stroke piston with an adjustable gas regulator. This supports reliable function across varied conditions and ammunition types.
