The heart of this rifle is its 14.5 inch chrome-moly-vanadium steel barrel. It is cold hammer forged, chrome lined, M4 profile, HP/MPI tested, and cut with a 1:7 twist for 5.56 NATO. Threads are 1/2x28, and it is fit with an A2-type flash hider. Factory specification indicates an extended flash suppressor pinned and welded to achieve a non-NFA overall length.
The free-float Daniel Defense M4A1 RIS II quad rail (12.25 inches, 6061-T6 aluminum) provides a continuous, T-marked top Picatinny rail. It bears clear lineage markings: "M4A1 RIS II," P/N DB001-BK, U.S. Pat. No. 7,716,865, CAGE CODE 3E2E2, plus the "FRONT SIGHT TEE" orientation mark.
The carbine-length gas system uses a pinned low-profile gas block.
Receivers are 7075-T6 aluminum with a Type III hard-coat anodized finish in black. The upper is marked "M4A1" and "5.56" with gold inlay. The lower is marked "MODEL DDM4 CAL MULTI" with the Daniel Defense Black Creek, GA rollmark, and includes a flared magwell and rear QD sling socket. The platform is AR-15, semi-automatic, direct impingement.
Controls and furniture are well appointed: an ambidextrous safety selector, ambidextrous dual-latch charging handle, a collapsible glass-filled polymer stock with rubber overmold, and a Daniel Defense rubber overmold pistol grip. Capacity is 32+1, and one 32-round polymer magazine with a yellow follower is included.
