It features SIG X-RAY day/night sights, ambidextrous manual safeties, a flat-faced SAO trigger, and the signature Legion ergonomics and markings. It comes with three 15-round factory magazines, the factory case with label, and additional red anodized LOK aluminum grip panels (not installed).

The P226 Legion SAO pairs a single-action-only, flat-faced trigger with ambidextrous manual thumb safeties and a reversible magazine release. The barrel hood is marked "P226-9-SAO," and the pistol is manufactured in the United States under part number E26R-9-LEGION-SAO.
The aluminum alloy frame and slide wear the durable Legion Gray Elite Cerakote finish. Forward and rear cocking serrations and the Legion logo on the slide top provide both function and the series' hallmark styling. The grip frame is set up with front strap checkering, additional checkering under the undercut trigger guard, and an extended, contoured beavertail.
Sighting is handled by SIG X-RAY day/night sights: a green-outlined tritium front sight (TG-H3 marked) and a drift-adjustable square-notch rear night sight. This configuration offers a bright, fast front sight in varied light conditions.
A frame-integral SIG/M1913 accessory rail with four slots is machined into the dust cover for mounting compatible accessories. Capacity is 15+1 in 9mm, and this pistol ships with three factory 15-round steel magazines. Black textured G10 grip panels with Legion medallion inlays are installed, with an additional set of red anodized LOK aluminum grip panels included but not installed.
