The FNX-45 Tactical is a DA/SA, external-hammer pistol with a frame-mounted safety/decocker and fully ambidextrous controls for the safety, slide stop, and magazine release. Its 15+1 capacity in .45 ACP and interchangeable backstraps give it both capacity and adaptable ergonomics in a full-size configuration.
The 5.3 inch stainless-steel barrel is cold hammer-forged and threaded 0.578x28 TPI, with a 1:16 RH twist. This configuration supports use with threaded accessories and pairs with suppressor-height sights for a clear sight picture.
Factory Trijicon tritium 3-dot night sights in suppressor height provide low-light capability. The slide is optics-ready with an optic cut under a removable plate, allowing a red dot to be mounted if desired. Front and rear slide serrations aid manipulation.
Construction features include a stainless-steel slide with a matte black finish, a black polymer frame with aggressive texturing, and replaceable steel frame rails. The MIL-STD-1913 multi-slot accessory rail on the dustcover supports common lights. An external extractor, loaded chamber indicator, and a 6.4 inch sight radius round out the slide assembly.
