The Cowboy Commemorative was issued for one year in 1970 with approximately 27,549 produced. This series is identified by its CB-prefix serial range and factory markings, including "COWBOY COMMEMORATIVE" on the barrel and "MODEL 1894 WINCHESTER" on the tang. It was manufactured in New Haven, Connecticut, and marked "WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL."
Receiver surfaces carry factory roll engraving with "Brave Land" and "Bold Men" scenes plus lariat and rope-and-spurs motifs. A cowboy medallion is inlaid in the walnut buttstock, complementing the commemorative theme. The receiver, lever, barrel bands, and buttplate are nickel-plated, paired with blued steel components for a distinctive presentation.
The rifle retains the classic Model 94 configuration with a 20-inch round barrel and a full-length tubular magazine in .30-30. It uses a top-eject receiver with a saddle ring and stud. Sight setup is traditional: a dovetailed front blade and an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear.
Stock furniture is American walnut with a straight-grip, smooth profile and matching walnut forend. Length of pull measures 13.0, maintaining the handling characteristics expected of a handy carbine-length 94 while showcasing the commemorative fit and finish.
