What’s Included
- Mauser Chileno Modelo 1895 small-ring receiver with charger guide and thumb cut
- Stepped barrel in long-rifle configuration with rear sight base and front-sight sleeve seat
Manufactured by Ludwig Loewe & Co. and marked on the left receiver "MAUSER CHILENO MODELO 1895" and "MANUFACTURA LOEWE BERLIN," this receiver and barrel assembly reflects early contract production for Chile in 1895–1896. Its Berlin origin is clearly stated on the receiver, and it retains a circled inspection/proof mark.
This small-ring Mauser receiver incorporates the charger guide and thumb cut associated with rapid loading from stripper clips. It uses a flag safety and the classic Mauser system with cock-on-closing operation, two front locking lugs, an external claw extractor, and an internal blade ejector.
The long-rifle configuration features a stepped barrel with the rear sight base present and a seat for the front-sight sleeve at the muzzle. The assembly is chambered in 8mm Mauser, aligning it with a widely supported cartridge.
Additional production details include a B-block serial prefix and German manufacture during the Ludwig Loewe period before the DWM transition, which is often of interest for tracking contract timelines and factory markings. As an antique, this example combines period manufacturing traits with identifiable Chilean-contract features.
