Chambered in 7mm-08 Rem, the barrel is marked "X-BOLT CAL. 7MM-08 REM ONLY." It is a 22 in steel sporter contour with a matte blued finish, free-floated for consistency, and fitted with a recessed crown. The twist rate is 1:9.5 in, and there are no iron sights.
The short-action steel receiver uses Browning’s X-Lock mounting system and is drilled and tapped with two four-hole base patterns. A three-lug bolt with a 60-degree lift provides smooth cycling. The detachable rotary magazine delivers a 4+1 capacity in the SHORT STANDARD body size.
Controls and fire control are set up for confident operation, with a top-tang safety and a bolt unlock button. Browning’s Feather Trigger is fitted at the factory, and the rifle features a gold-colored trigger and a gold Browning Buckmark logo on the bottom metal.
The Grade I black walnut stock has a satin finish, cut checkering, a straight comb with a cheek swell, sling swivel studs, and an Inflex recoil pad. The measured length of pull is 13.75 in (catalog lists 13 5/8 in).
