Uberti builds this 1860 Army Steel as a faithful cap-and-ball reproduction with a steel, open-top Colt-style frame and an 8 inch round barrel. The barrel assembly is wedge-retained with a right-side retaining screw, and a creeping loading lever with a front latch supports easy, secure seating of projectiles.
The revolver is chambered in .44 black powder and uses a six-shot percussion cylinder with six nipples. It operates in single-action only and carries a traditional sighting arrangement: a mortised front blade and a hammer-notch rear sight. One-piece walnut grips, a brass trigger guard, and a steel backstrap complete the classic configuration.
A key visual highlight is the rebated, non-fluted cylinder with a factory roll-engraved naval battle scene. The cylinder is blued, complementing the blued barrel and the color case-hardened frame and receiver. Italian PN proof marks and the clear barrel marking "CAL. 44 BLACK POWDER ONLY – A.
